Tower Hill Barns Wedding Photography – Keri + Neil

Keri and Neil’s wedding was the first time I had ever photographed at Tower Hill Barns and I have to say, what a venue. The staff were amazing and there were so many awesome places to get cools shots. I was like a kid in a sweet shop. We had weather from every season. Starting in typical Welsh weather fashion with pouring down rain. But did a little downpour stop Keri and Neil from having their humanist ceremony outside? Of course it didn’t. They embraced the weather, brought the chairs from the inside ceremony room and had their amazing ceremony under the arches conducted by Maxine Beech.

Later in the day, the sun made an appearance and just before it disappeared behind the tree’s we made a mad dash to make the most of the gorgeous golden light. Then it was party time. Keri and Neil had Under The Covers for their wedding band to keep the dance floor rocking for the rest of the night.

Keri and Neil’s wedding was selected by Cheshire Bride to be featured as a real wedding story. You can read it online here from page 191.

Here are a few words by Keri from the article:

“From the very start, Neil and I wanted a very relaxed celebration that could have elements of tradition throughout the day and I especially wanted a venue with character. Also high on our tick list was good food and live music.
We knew from the beginning we were going to have a humanist ceremony so wanted a venue where we could get married at as well as party. I was really keen to have the option to get married outside. I went to see Tower Hill Barns with my parents for the fist time and I knew it was where I wanted for our wedding so I rang Neil and suggested he leave work early. He didn’t say a word the whole way round the venue. When we got in the car he declared it was perfect.
When we were envisioning our wedding we only ever imagined getting married under the bridge – that is what I had the décor for and I couldn’t wait to walk down the long aisle. But as my dad (also named Neil) and I were on our way to the venue, we had a phone call to say the wedding was going to be held inside. We both looked out of the window and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky. It turned out that at the venue there had been a couple of very heavy rainstorms and Neil didn’t want to take the risk of anyone getting wet.
However, we made the decision that the rain looked as if it was going to hold off and they quickly moved everything outside again.
We were passionate about having a band a full dancefloor for the evening, so we did some research and were recommended UTC by two different people. We went with their six piece band option and received so many comments after the wedding – from all age groups – about how great they were.

Our photographer was Kyle Hassall – he was fabulous. We wanted a natural wedding album – nothing too formal – and that is exactly what we got. Kyle was fantastic on the day, nothing was too much bother, especially when family members were asking for all sorts of shots. We really appreciated his approach. He would set up shots and then come and get Neil and me so we didn’t feel as though we were missing out on the party”
