Heaton House Farm Wedding Photography

Lisa and Steve’s wedding at Heaton House Farm last year was the first of 3 awesome weddings that I shot there in the space of a few months. I love shooting at Heaton House Farm. Apart from the fact that the staff are absolute legends, the venue and views are stunning. Photographing the same venue several times can be challenging because I don’t want to fall into the trap of taking the same photo every time. Luckily, Heaton House Farm has so many awesome places to shoot, it’s easy to find something new each time.

A MASSIVE thank you goes out to the one and only Toni Darcy for helping me out on the day. It was also to great to work with Sam Fitton again and the boys from YSD Media.

Here are Lisa and Steve with a few words about their wedding:

What was the proposal like?
I had based my proposal on our first 3 dates, which I re-enacted on the day of the third anniversary of our first date. First of all a round of Crazy Golf at Paradise Island in the Trafford Centre, which we did on our second date. This was followed by lunch at a restaurant in Bollington where we used to live, we had not been there before but the pub we had our first date at was holding a country music festival that day!
This was followed by a walk around Macclesfield Forest which we did for our third date, and this was where I popped the question whilst sitting on a bench where we had shared our first picnic together. Lisa had no idea of what I had planned, she hadn’t even linked all the events together, or that it was on our third anniversary!

How did you find wedding planning?
We did enjoy a lot of the wedding planning and it is important to do so, we had so many creative ideas but some of them we are glad we didn’t pursue! We were more than happy though with what we achieved and I don’t think there is anything we would change.
There was certainly a lot to think about and it is very easy to get carried away, but stick to your budget and try to pick things that you are going to enjoy rather than what you think other people would like.

Why did you choose Heaton House Farm as your wedding venue?
Heaton House Farm was actually the first venue we looked at, originally we had planned a church wedding close to where we first lived together in Bollington and were looking for somewhere to host the reception nearby. We were absolutely blown away by the views at Heaton House and fell in love with the venue, we did look at other venues in the area which were nice, but they weren’t Heaton House! In the end we decided to have the ceremony there as well!

What was your favourite part of your wedding day?
After all the build-up and planning and the stress, seeing each other for the first time on the aisle.

What song did you have for your first dance and why did you choose it?
We had ‘The Story’ by LeAnn Rimes, which we both felt had lyrics that we could relate to, and had a nice slow build up to a crescendo where we would invite everyone on to the dance floor to help us hide our terrible dancing!

Who were your favourite wedding suppliers?
Every wedding needs a Sam Fitton! We were blown away by him, he was just absolutely fantastic throughout the day, such a great guy and a wonderful character.
We loved the work done by Natalies Florist who did all the flowers for the venue, the bride and bridesmaids bouquets, and the buttonholes. She captured exactly what we wanted from our discussions with her and used her creative discretion to pick the perfect flowers and colours for what we wanted.
And of course your lovely self for our unbelievably amazing wedding photos! The word photo doesn’t do them justice; every one is like a piece of art! We cannot thank you enough, every time we look through them we are transported back to our special day. [Aw, thanks guys]
We were just incredibly proud and humbled that so many people were able to attend our special day, we felt so much love and happiness from everyone. It still feels strange that it actually happened, all that planning and preparation for the best day of our lives.
