Mere Court Hotel Wedding Photography

Sarah and Adam’s wedding at Mere Court Hotel was the first time I had photographed at the venue and I absolutely loved it. The staff were fantastic and made sure I was very well looked after. It’s such a great place to shoot and it was lovely to wander around the gardens with Sarah and Adam getting a few photographs. And when I spotted the amazing light coming through the hotel on completely the wrong side, we managed to get out of a fire door and through some trees to get to it. Definitely worth it.

Sarah and Adam’s wedding was awesome, I don’t think I saw Sarah stop smiling once during their day. As you can probably see from their photographs. Here are Sarah and Adam with some words about their wedding:

How did you both meet?
Adam and I first met whilst working part-time at ASDA. It took a while for Adam to pluck up the courage to ask for my number but within 6 months we were officially an item and have been inseparable ever since!

What was the proposal like?
Adam surprised me with a Birthday trip away to the Lake District where he had planned a morning activity of abseiling in Coniston before driving over to Lake Windermere. He had packed a picnic and suggested we hired a boat to take out on the lake. Whilst in the middle of the lake Adam announced that he had written me a poem but as he began to read it out, a large boat had recently driven by, and our boat began to rock from side to side. Thankfully (for Adam) it had calmed down by the time he got to the last line where he proceeded to get down on one knee and propose with the most beautiful ring.

Why did you choose Mere Court Hotel as your wedding venue?
We wanted a venue, near to our home in Warrington where there would only be one wedding on that day and also somewhere that people could stay over. A country house hotel seemed like the perfect option for us and luckily we had quite a few options to choose from. However, when we first visited Mere Court Hotel it ticked all the boxes and we were won over by the light and airy conservatory and the gorgeous grounds that it sits within.

What was your favourite part of your wedding day?
The speeches were such a special moment for us. Everyone couldn’t stop laughing, which Kyle captured perfectly in our photographs. The icing on the cake was that, unbeknown to me, my dad had planned a surprise song at the end of the wedding speeches. I looked sternly at my dad (again a moment caught perfectly by Kyle) as the backing track started and he stood up and started reciting the lyrics of ‘Happy Together’ by the Turtles. As I ‘tried’ to hide the embarrassment, Adam’s dad suddenly stood up and started belting out the second verse of the song, soon followed by the bridesmaids and groomsmen who joined in with the chorus and proceeded to the top table. I had no idea that Adam was also in on the surprise until the third verse where he shot up and began to sing. By this point my embarrassment had turned into shock and laughter as I was dragged up to join them for the final part of the song. This was probably the only aspect of the day that I hadn’t organised and a moment we will remember fondly from our wedding day.

What song did you have for your first dance and why did you choose it?
We found it quite difficult to pick one, as we didn’t have anything that was ‘Our Song’. We eventually chose Ed Sheeran, ‘Tenerife Sea’ for it’s gorgeous lyrics and ‘easy sway’ rhythm as admittedly we aren’t the best when it comes to dancing!

Wedding Supplier Shout Outs

Our florist Paula from Molly Blooms couldn’t have worked harder. She put her all in the making everything absolutely perfect – my bouquet was more than I could have ever wished for!
Marise from Bloomsbury Cakes did an amazing job of our 4-tier buttercream cake. She liaised with our florist herself and did an absolutely stunning job – it tasted delicious too!
Kyle also worked really well with our videographer, Ben, from North West Wedding Videos who also did a great job of capturing our day.

Our favourite photograph has to be the confetti shot. It was one of the first photographs Kyle shared with us and has been our favourite ever since. It captures the pure joy and happiness of the day and we particularly love my Maid of Honour’s dad who leaves his camera hanging round his neck to just enjoy the moment.
