My first Heaton House Farm wedding of 2017 was a right corker. Jen and Carl are such an awesome couple and from the first time that we met they were so easy to get along with that I knew their wedding was going to be great. Here are some words about their wedding from Jen and Carl about their wedding:

How did you both meet?
We both went to school together but never knew each other at school as we were in different years.  We did have mutual friends from school and randomly met on a night out in Manchester back in 2007! Good old Ampersand!

What was the proposal like?
So I was 37 weeks pregnant when Carl decided to (finally) pop the question! We went for a lovely meal out for my birthday and Carl didn’t eat all of his meal which was completely unheard of and kept leaving the table?! We got a take out of desserts and came home.  Carl went outside to fetch something out of his van for my birthday and came back into the living room with a big bunch of flowers (which I thought were for my birthday!) and something wrapped up?! So as I was opening the present which happened to be a wedding magazine…..Carl was on one knee asking me to be his wife! 8 whole years I waited for this moment!

How did you find wedding planning? Do you have any tips for other brides?
Sooooo wedding planning with a newborn baby and a 4 year old was not the easiest of things I have ever done in my life but it was fun (and stressful at times!) and the kiddies enjoyed the food and cake tasting! 

Why did you choose Heaton House Farm for your wedding venue?
So as soon as we walked into Heaton House Farm I (we!) knew that this was the place we wanted to get married! It was so stunning and magical and we instantly fell in love with the place! I always wanted to get married in a ‘barn type’ place and this venue was just perfect! 

What was your favourite part of your wedding day?
Gosh I really don’t know what our favourite bit of the day was?!?!? Having all of our nearest and dearest under one roof all day long for us was really a lovely feeling but we enjoyed the whole day and I’m so gutted now and want to do it all over again……!!

What song did you have for your first dance and why did you choose it?
So when me and Carl met we both knew that we wanted to travel the world before we settled down. So thats what we did…for 10months we got career breaks from work and jetted off with our backpacks and went on a fantastic trip of a lifetime.  During our time away, everywhere we went we always heard Jason Mraz – ‘I’m Yours’ playing out of giant speakers. This just seemed like the perfect song for our first dance.

Who were your favourite wedding suppliers?

Vanilla Allseasons – for the most amazing food (and our personalised initials on our pies!)
Agent Smith – the most incredible band who certainly got everyone on thier feet
Woodland Rover – for our scrummy pizzas in the evening
Elegant Cake Designs – for our Fab travelled themed/traditional cake
Cheshire Celebrations – for the photo mirror! We have some great drunken piccies from this
Verdure – for our stunning decorating of the venue and for our lovely bouquets and button holes
Venue Perfection – for our bunting and chair coverings
Laura Mayers – for my gorgeous hair and make up
