An intimate Victorian Townhouse in the heart of Didsbury
The first time I photographed a wedding at Eleven Didsbury Park I fell in love with the place, so when Eleanor and Harry asked me to be their wedding photographer there I jumped at the chance. It is a stunning, boutique hotel in the leafy suburb of Didsbury that attracts very cool couples. I had already shot at a couple of its sister venues, Great John Street Hotel and King Street Townhouse in Manchester City Centre. Eleven Didsbury Park is one of two Eclectic Hotel venues on the same road, with Didsbury House Hotel just a stroll away.
Like all of the Eclectic Hotels, it is a super stylish yet homely wedding venue with log fires and a private, walled garden where guests can get stuck into the amazing barbecue food. I love that it is really intimate and that the entire venue and hotel rooms are just for the couple and their guests.
Photographing the morning of the wedding
Even though it was the middle of summer, in typical Manchester style, it was a very wet morning. I met up with Eleanor in the bridal suite where she was relaxing and getting ready ready with her bridesmaids and flower girls. But even though it started as a very rainy day, the inside of the hotel was so warm and cosy that I just forgot all about it. (Until I ended up lying in a puddle taking photographs that is!)
After getting suited up with his best man, Harry headed to greet the wedding guests in the cosy bar on the hotel. There are comfy sofas and log fires in there making it a great place to relax away from the garden.
Tying the knot at Didsbury House Hotel
Didsbury House Hotel is just a short walk from Eleven Didsbury Park. The blue lounge and board room of the luxury Victorian villa have beautiful, period architecture and cornices from 1838! The high ceilings and large bay window make it the perfect room the hold the wedding ceremony.
Drinks and barbecue in the private, walled garden
The sun came out at the perfect time for Eleanor and Harry. Just as their wedding ceremony had finished and their guests headed over to Eleven Didsbury Park for the relaxed drinks in the walled garden. The garden is a completely private oasis in the middle of the trendy suburb of Didsbury where guests can relax and enjoy outdoor games while sipping their reception drinks. Underneath the cover of the veranda, Eleanor’s dad and Harry’s best man gave fantastic, impromptu speeches after the wedding guests had tucked into the amazing barbecue food.
Relaxed, intimate weddings at Eleven Didsbury Park
My favourite thing about this venue is that the vibe is very laid back and is absolutely perfect for couples who want to have an intimate wedding with a smaller amount of guests in a really exclusive venue. It has a homely interior, fantastic for keeping you cosy and snug at a winter wedding and the walled garden is perfect during the summer months.
