Unique Devon vineyard wedding venue

When the world fell apart and wedding plans changed, Kat and Stu got in touch to see if I’d like to join them as they eloped to the beautiful Brickhouse Vineyard in Devon. Of course I absolutely jumped at the chance. It is such an incredible venue, tucked away in the idyllic hills of South Devon. The ceremony took place in the stunning 18th Century Round House overlooking the vines.

It was such an amazingly, sunny day when I packed up my camera and lenses and made the journey down to the West Country the day before Kat and Stu tied the knot. And on the day of the wedding itself the weather was even better. Not a cloud in the sky. I couldn’t have asked for better for my first wedding of 2021.

A Relaxed Morning Stroll On The Beach

On the morning of the wedding I headed out to meet Kat and Stu while they walked their dog, Bramble on one of Devon’s gorgeous beaches. Fun fact: by an amazing coincidence, Bramble is half sister to my dog, Samson. We walked through the sand dunes and paddled in the sea.

Morning preparations at the Folly

After we dusted the sand off it was time to head to The Folly, a gorgeous cottage close to the venue, where Kat and Stu got ready for their wedding together. I love that their wedding was really untraditional. There were no wedding guests. No bridesmaids or groomsmen. No traditions that people feel the need to have. Just their own personalities stamped on their big day. I photographed the bride and groom getting ready in a mega relaxed way, as I did for the majority of the day. After they shared a glass of champagne together and Kat made sure that Stu’s outfit was on point, Stu walked up through the woods to Brickhouse Vineyard with Bramble, who was adorned with flowers. She made such a beautiful flower-girl.

The wedding ceremony at Brickhouse Vineyard

As Kat arrived at Brickhouse Vineyard in an incredible Ferrari, Stu and Bramble were ready to greet her. We headed into The Round House which was such an incredible building with exposed oak beams and a stunning view of the countryside out of the front. Kat and Stu’s wedding ceremony was really personal and the fact that they read vows that they had written themselves made it even more so. I also loved that I was a witness to their marriage!

Champagne and The Vineyard

After the ceremony, Kat and Stu enjoyed some time together, sipping champagne and FaceTiming friends and family. We then spent a little time wandering around the vineyard to get some relaxed portrait photographs. The whole day was so laid back and the amazing weather made it feel like we were in Italy. When it was time to head home, we cut through some woods where we took the opportunity to get some beautiful, golden hour photos as the gorgeous evening light shone through the trees.

Here are some of my favourite photographs from Kat and Stu’s elopement wedding at Brickhouse Vineyard:
