Clare and Chris’ wedding at The Worsley Marriott was such an awesome day. Not only are they such an amazing couple but they assembled a crack team of fantastic suppliers, including Tom Harrington on video and The Midnight Cats who kept people bouncing on the dance floor all night.
How did you both meet?
At the bar at Stamford House in Audenshaw. It was a friends daughters 18th that we both went to.
What was the proposal like?
I surprised Clare, Kaitlyn and Lilly and everyone at my 30th party. I was doing my thank you speech, which I decided to do early on, got Clare and the girls to close their eyes and open their hands. They obviously expected flowers so as I got down on one knee and held Clare’s hand she opened her eyes straight away. Technically a 30th and impromptu engagement in one. Needless to say the whole room was surprised too.
How did you find wedding planning?
Honestly, quite stressful with all the choices and finding the perfect stationary supplier, florist, favours etc. We’d say don’t worry about pleasing your guests, it’s not their day, they’ll enjoy it regardless. Also embrace the time together on the pre-wedding shoot. We had a laugh, put us at ease and also at times forgot you (Kyle) were there.
Why did you choose The Worsley Marriott for your wedding venue?
We’d been to a few places but knew the Worsley Marriott was the venue as soon as we drove down the driveway. Think we both got that ‘feeling’ you hear and read about when choosing a venue.
What was your favourite part of your wedding day?
Got to be the singing waiters. We kept it quiet from everyone, it was brilliant to see everyone’s reaction but then to see everyone getting involved in singing and dancing. Also having The Midnight Cats perform at night. Was really nice to see a full dancefloor all night.
What song did you have for your first dance and why did you choose it?
Ed Sheeran – Thinking Out Loud
The words were perfect for us. Also I may have serenaded Clare a few times after a glass or 6 of red Haha.
Is there anything else you’d like to add?
Clare liked the fact that there was a more relaxed, stress free atmosphere with the photography and videography knowing yourself and Tom had worked together previously.
Just enjoy every minute as it does go quickly.
