The Bridge, Prestbury Wedding Photography
Historic wedding venue on the banks of the River Bollin
The Bridge is such a stunning venue in the picturesque village of Prestbury in Cheshire. The interior is wonderfully eclectic and a had such a choice of places to take portrait pictures. Megan and Dan’s wedding is the first time I had photographed at this beautifully boutique hotel for around 8 years. It has changed a lot since then having been taken over by Flat Cap Hotels who also run The Vicarage and The Courthouse wedding venues. The owners and decor may have changed but the staff are just as helpful and amazing as ever. I met up with Megan and Dan just before the country went into lockdown and the pandemic halted everyone’s plans. So when they contacted me to say that they were planning on tying the knot in October I was made up. When the government announced that they would be reducing the amount of people allowed at a wedding from 30 to 15 guests the week that they were due to marry, Megan called me to see if they could bring to wedding forward. They managed to pull off the incredible and planned their big day in the space of a week!
Morning Preparations at The Bridge Prestbury
Before I made my way to The Bridge, I met Dan and his groomsmen as they put on their suits and enjoyed a few drinks at his house. It was then off to meet up with Megan, who was getting ready with her bridesmaids in one of the hotel’s rooms. Even though it was October, the weather was glorious and the natural light coming through the windows was absolutely beautiful.
The Bridge Wedding Ceremony
As the guests made their way into The Riverside, the very proud Father of the Bride collected Megan to escort her to the ceremony. Dan nervously waited at the end of the aisle as Megan and her bridal party made their way down to meet him. There was laughter as a very relieved couple finally got to say I do!
Drinks reception and portraits
Megan and Dan chatted and laughed with their guests outside in the October sunshine in the courtyard. I walked around with my cameras, documenting the amazing day. As the sun dropped lower we grabbed some relaxed couple portraits in gorgeous, golden light. Megan and Dan were so natural and happy that it really shows in the photos.
Speeches and reception in The Riverside
As the sun set and the light dropped, I set up my off-camera flashes in The Riverside for the amazing speeches. The guests laughed, cried and were embarrassed by the speeches from the Father of the Bride, Groom and Best Man. Then, after the beautiful wedding breakfast, it was time for the first dance. At the end of Megan and Dan’s wedding at The Bridge, Prestbury, we headed outside to grab a few more relaxed photographs of the couple.
It was such an awesome wedding day and such an honour to photograph at The Bridge. Here are a few of my favourite shots from Megan and Dan’s big day:
