Trevor Hall Wedding Photography

Historic North Wales Wedding Venue

Wow! What an honour it was for me to be a Trevor Hall wedding photographer. Trevor Hall is such a stunning wedding venue in Llangollen, North Wales. Although I have photographed in Llangollen before at Tower Hill Barns, this was the first time I had ever photographed at Trevor Hall before Rachel and Adam’s wedding there. As I pulled up to the Georgian stately home the first thing I noticed were the stunning views. It was raining hard, but once I got inside, Trevor Hall was warm and cosy. There is so much history in Trevor Hall with a stone on the outside into which is carved the date, 1742. The house was fully restored after a fire in the 1960’s reduced it to a shell and is now back to its former glory.

From the first minute I met Rachel and Adam I knew their wedding was going to be epic. Not only are they an absolutely amazing couple but they had rounded up a crack squad of wedding suppliers at an awesome venue. Barretts Event Caterers provided the incredible meal and it was great to see Gavin Jones and his band, The Rush keeping the dance floor bouncing all night.

Here are a few of my favourite photographs from Rachel and Adam’s Trevor Hall wedding:

How did you both meet?

I was working on behalf of her majesty’s government in Krakow, using a code name and claiming I was a seller for Universal Exports. Rachel was managing a bar I was staying in and made the best vodka martini I’d ever tasted, so I asked if I could buy her dinner and the rest is history.
Not really. Tinder.

What was the proposal like?

Having spent most of our relationship convincing Rachel that I didn’t want to get married, because I genuinely didn’t, I realised that it was unfair of me to stop her from enjoying something that she’d spent her life dreaming of.
I took her to her favourite spot on the Wirral & asked her how she imagined I’d propose if I ever did. She said it would be a hugely convoluted affair involving games & puzzles & things.
I said I thought she’d prefer if I did something like take her to favourite spot on the Wirral before getting down on one knee and proposing. At which point I got down on one & proposed.

How did you find wedding planning?

I found it really easy because Rachel did it all. I think the key thing is to sit down and work out what really matters to you. To us, it was being surrounded by our family & friends & having a great big party.

Why did you choose Trevor Hall as your wedding venue?

One of the other things that mattered to us was paying for everyone’s booze, so we needed a venue where we could do that and it not be extortionate.
Trevor Hall was a superb venue, basically saying to us that we could treat it as though we were getting married in our own home. We hired a marquee and everything just spotted into place. Apart from the weather….

What was your favourite part of your wedding day?

Genuinely it was just being surrounded by everyone we love. Having a dance, a sing and a great time.

What song did you have for your first dance and why did you choose it?

We Have All The Time In The World, Louis Armstrong.
We caught in two minds between that & another, more modern song. Then a couple of months before the wedding I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis & it suddenly seemed to be so much more fitting.

If there is anything else you would like to add about your wedding?

I’m not just saying this because you’ve asked us to complete this questionnaire, but Kyle absolutely made the day a treat for us. There was no question too big or request that you weren’t willing to help us with. Most importantly, we barely noticed you were there, which is different to some photographers that we’ve seen at other weddings!
We couldn’t be more delighted with the photographs you produced, managing to capture the day perfectly.
