Kevin and I met through mutual friends. To be honest, I spotted him on a photo on Facebook, thought he was hot then he found out and sent me a friend request. The wonders of Facebook! Lol. We later met on a night out.
What was the proposal like?
Kevin’s proposal was very personal and thoughtful. He drove me to a hotel in Shrewsbury (I was born in Shrewsbury) and tricked me into thinking that we were dropping something off for an event for his work. Whilst we were there we stopped for a drink which then led to afternoon tea. Whilst sat in a private room, a lady brought in a CD player and pressed play. The CD played a range of tracks from Hungry eyes from Dirty Dancing, Englishman in New York to ain’t no sunshine by Bill Withers (Which Kev likes to sing in the shower!)By the fourth track I had started to notice that Kev had stopped eating and looked a bit flustered! In hindsight all four songs meant something to us as a couple. He then swept round and went down on one knee! Following this we went for a walk around Shrewsbury close to where my grandparents lived when I was little. Finally Kevin arranged for my Mum and Dad to meet us for a meal at a local pub where I surprised my Mum at least with my beautiful ring.
How did you find wedding planning?
Wedding planning was mostly fun. I had a long time to plan so I ticked off the big things quite quickly. Nearing the day it was a bit more time consuming and I felt I had a lot more to juggle.
My advice to other brides would be to stay organised, write lots of lists (I love a list!) and make things! A lot of my guests loved the handmade personal touches. Why did you choose Willington Hall as your wedding venue?
We chose Willington Hall for three main reasons: the delicious food (Andy, the chef, is amazing!), the gorgeous scenery and the kind and helpful staff. We were very lucky to have perfect weather on the day so our guests thoroughly enjoyed Willington’s beautiful gardens.
What was your favourite part of your wedding day?
Our favourite parts of the wedding. The church ceremony was magical. So meaningful and special. Topped off by a visit from our German Shepherd Emba outside the church. The wedding party! The showing of our incredible wedding video preview, our amazing band, everyone dancing and the sparkler send off!!What song did you have for your first dance and why did you choose it?
We chose Cry to Me by Solomon Burke from the film Dirty Dancing. Dirty Dancing is our favourite film and has cropped up on a number of occasions during our engagement; from the proposal to re-enacting the final number on my hen doo with 21 of my friends! We tried to incorporate some of the most memorable moves from the film and even included a little lift at the end! I was a tad concerned about how steady Kev would be given he had naturally enjoyed a couple of drinks but he did a stirling job!Our favourite wedding suppliers were..Obviously the incredibly talented Kyle Hassall. It was like having another friend present on the day who happened to be an ace photographer!! [Aw, thanks guys]

Our favourite wedding photos are the one where we have just walked out of the church hand in hand, we look so happy! The sparkler photo!! And our guests outside the church with Emba. And the photos of everyone dancing on the dance floor!!
I guess the only we would add is how grateful we are to all our family and friends who contributed in lots of different ways to our special day. We were very lucky!!
